How does Speakr work?

1

Pupils log on, typically using the same details as for existing school systems

2

Pupils choose a face and can write a line about how they’re feeling if they wish. If a Speakr Poll is set by the school or Speakr, they can give their view if they wish

3

Pupils can review or send messages to staff members if they wish

1

Speakr alerts teachers if pupils have sent messages, and teachers can log on at any time to review the class dashboard to see how a class is doing at a glance

2

Teachers can click through to review a child’s Speakr input in detail

3

Children can be flagged, or messaged through Speakr's secure messaging system if follow up action is appropriate

Benefits

Wellbeing and mental health are areas of increasing focus in the UK and on a global scale. Speakr makes it easier for schools to understand the wellbeing, emotional state, and mental health of their pupils through frequent, 'light touch' interactions that build up a rich picture of children's changing feelings.

Speaker enables schools to answer questions such as...

How is the emotional health of our children?

How do we evidence the effectiveness of our intervention measures to Estyn, or Ofsted?

How do we find an entry into conversations with parents about issues at home that might be affecting children in school?

What effect do issues in the local environment have on the wellbeing of our children?

Through small frequent interactions, using technology that primary school children are profoundly comfortable with, Speakr enables a school to build up an accurate picture of wellbeing over time, across the school, enabling staff to focus on the children who need help and support.
